How do I stop Reels from eating my data?
Open Settings, then Data usage and media quality, and turn on Data Saver — it stops videos preloading as you scroll and drops upload quality on mobile networks. Reels is by far the most expensive part of the app, so this one toggle makes more difference than anything else you can change.
What is the difference between Instagram and Instagram Lite?
Lite installs in a fraction of the space and is built for entry-level phones and slow networks, but it drops most creation tools, high-resolution uploads and several newer features. If you mainly browse and message, Lite is enough; if you post Reels or edit inside the app, you want the full build.
Can I use two Instagram accounts in one app?
Yes — the app supports several accounts signed in at once and switches between them from your profile picture, with no need to log out. Notifications arrive for all of them, which is the usual reason people stop keeping a second app installed for a business account.
Do I need Facebook to use Instagram?
No. An Instagram account can be created with a phone number or email alone. Linking to Facebook is optional and only becomes necessary for cross-posting, shared inboxes in Meta Business Suite, or running ads.
