Does the M-PESA app work outside Kenya?
This is Safaricom’s M-PESA app for Kenya. Tanzania, Mozambique, Lesotho and DRC use separate M-PESA apps from Vodacom — install the one matching the country where your SIM is registered.
Do I need a Safaricom SIM to use the M-PESA app?
Yes. The app is a front-end for the M-PESA account tied to your Safaricom line, so you sign in with a Safaricom number already registered for M-PESA and confirm actions with your service PIN. On dual-SIM phones the Safaricom SIM just needs to be active in the handset.
Can I withdraw M-PESA cash without visiting an agent?
Yes. Besides the agent network, M-PESA supports cardless withdrawals at partner-bank ATMs: pick the ATM option, get a one-time code and enter it at the machine. Agents remain the widest channel — enter the agent's number in the app or via *334# and confirm with your PIN.
Is the M-PESA APK safe to install?
