Xender does one job and keeps itself small doing it: moving files between two phones that are next to each other, over a direct Wi-Fi link rather than the internet. Nothing leaves your data bundle, and a large video crosses in seconds rather than the many minutes Bluetooth would take. It transfers anything the file system can see — apps, photos, music, documents, whole folders — and works between Android, iOS, and a computer through a browser page rather than a desktop install. Because there is no account and no upload step, it is also the practical way to pass a file when the network is down entirely.

- Sends apps as well as media, so a friend can install what you have
- Connects to a computer through a browser page — nothing to install there

How to update

FAQ
Xender or SHAREit — which is better?
They work the same way and reach similar speeds, so the difference is what surrounds the transfer. Xender stays closer to the single job; SHAREit adds a content feed, a media player and more advertising, which makes it larger. If storage is tight, Xender is the leaner of the two.
Can I send an app I already have to another phone?
Yes — installed apps appear in the send list and are transferred as APK files. Two limits are worth knowing: paid or licence-checked apps often refuse to run on the receiving phone, and apps distributed as split bundles may not transfer as a single working file. System apps cannot be sent at all.
The two phones will not find each other
Turn Wi-Fi on but do not join a network on either phone — the app needs to build its own link, and an existing connection often blocks it. Grant whichever nearby-network permission the phone asks for — Nearby devices on Android 13 and up, location on older releases — and switch off mobile hotspots and VPNs. Scanning the sender's QR code is more reliable than waiting for automatic discovery.
Is the Xender APK safe to install?
Yes. We mirror the official Xender build and publish its SHA-256 checksum and a VirusTotal scan on this page, so you can verify the file is untouched before installing.
What is the Xender package name?
The Android application ID is cn.xender. Check it after installing (Settings → Apps) to confirm you got the genuine app.
